Prediction: When Obama wins, the Republicans will go out of their way to...
insist it was an "easy" victory. They will eat John McCain alive in an attempt to undermine Obama's accomplishment.

I look forward to Freepers saying much to that effect.

1. I can see PUMA's saying that
"Well of course he won. No Democrat was going to lose this election."

11. And the whole world will rejoice!
We will be hearing of dancing in the streets of London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Stockholm, Lisbon, Berlin, Athens, etc, etc...And that's just in Europe alone.

We'll be hearing from all of the world's capitals that have always cherished our ideals and have been so discouraged these last 8 years.

I try to visualize these scenes in my mind as I visualize Barack Obama taking the oath of office and Washington erupt into a city bursting with overjoyed citizens coming to celebrate our new hope.

YES WE CAN!

9. Amen and hallelujah to that!
Even happier will be January 20, 2009 when he takes the oath to uphold the Constitution, and we can at last have a President who means it.

Go Obama!

12. But now we know and we can fight them!
Obama and his excellent staff can do this. He has done a magnificent job of running a fine campaign and that is indicative of his running a fine White House and executive branch of government.

We've travelled a long way since those days my friend, a long way. This time we will have a solid majority of the people on our side and it won't be easy for the other side to pull us down.

Just you wait and see.

13. I only hope I can find my way to Washington for the inaugural next year
This is the one I want to be at, and the one to boo Booshe as he leaves our House. You KNOW Obama will walk down Pennsylvania Avenue no matter what the weather.

15. Yeah, I really think the Clinton people didn't know what hit them. It was always "incoming!"
They were continually in crisis mode.

Obama has seen what has happened during "the wars." He knows the deal. They have their knives out even before the inauguration. OK, that's the deal. We will handle it and here's our plan. These people are thinkers and planners. And they are serious.

I trust in Obama's executive judgment. If I were a Republican businessman, hell yes I'd vote for Obama. The guy's got the smarts, McCain doesn't. It's a simple as that.

17. You're absolutely right. They'll go into 24/7 attack mode.
But I think we have a few things going for us this time.
  1. We're prepared for it
  2. We've been hardened by 8 years of fighting W
  3. We have the internet
  4. We have Countdown, Rachel, TDS and Colbert

18. They will blame McCain
and his "compromise wing" will be booted out. The reality is McCain is a maverick to the extent that he does not fit in. He is not an economic Republican of the likes of Reagan, nor is he a God botherer of the likes of Huckabee. He is hated by both wings just as much, but marginally less than they hate each other wing.

The Republicans will tear each other apart after defeat in November. The economic Republicans want nothing to do with the likes of Bush and Palin is just a shameful embarrassment.

Unless the Republicans decide what way they want to go, they look set to be easily out of power for at least two full term Presidencies, if not longer (even if they do take a term they will only do so on a Democratic agenda). As UK Conservatives learnt in 1997, people do not like losing their homes.
