But that's not a bad thing; in fact, it's the reason why I think they compliment each other so well. Biden says a lot that Obama can't (or wouldn't) say, yet Obama always looks like the one in control.

As for McCain--he compliments his running mate like a baloney sandwich compliments a wet cat.

1. I think Biden is very good at saying things that Obama can't mostly
because he's black. They are both doing a fabulous job for us.

2. I noticed during the recent debate that it first appeared that
Obama had erroneously referred to McCain as "Joe". He corrected that. But, with four of five sentences, he referred to someone named "Joe". That indicated to me that he was thinking several sentences ahead. It's sort of like watching an orchestra conductor whose hands are reacting to the
almost exact moment in the music, while his eyes will often be looking in the direction of a section that is on the verge of making an entrance.

Obama definitely is thinking multiple things as he says just one. That is particularly noticeable when he is being interviewed. He likes the contraction "and" and will frequently elongate the pronunciation of it while he's preparing the rest of the sentence. He seems to never "shoot from the hip".

5. Perhaps he did. But, in that case, he still referred to someone with
the same first name. But, it wasn't Jim Lehrer.

If I'm also incorrect on that, my apologies for having a faulty memory.

4. True. And he'll begin answers to questions with the word: "Look..."
