A Palin sighting I'm stunned about.....
I live in a suburb south of Raleigh, NC...more rural, very red(necky).

I certainly see more McCain signs and bumperstickers than Obama...for now.

HOWEVER, I just saw something that made my jaw drop:

A sign in someone's front yard which read:

SARAH PALIN FOR VICE-PRESIDENT.

Nothing about McCain at all!!!!!!!!!

Holy sheeeiiiitttttt.

And, on a different note, I just got an email from a Canadian friend who said they are hoping for McCain (even though she bemoans the Bush-like Harper) because "both Obama and Hillary" snubbed them.

She's in Toronto.

Whassup with that?

5. Thank God for Durham, Chapel Hill and Carrboro...
and even inside-the-Beltline Raleigh. I was on Blue Ridge/Ridge Road the other day and was pretty astonished at the "Another Family for McCain/Palin" yard signs. I hadn't seen any until Yukon Barbie entered the picture.

14. I know what you mean.
When I would get overwhelmed with the Bush worship over the last 8 years, I would drive to Carrboro/Chapel Hill and look at all the liberal bumperstickers on the cars. (Plus they have a Trader Joe's!)

Thank goodness. Oh, and Cary has a Trader Joe's, too.

and thankfully, Raleigh will be getting one sometime in 2009. I love Fresh Market, but wow, is it pricey!

30. Those are bizarre! There's one at a house down the street.
Everytime I see it I think "Where's the OTHER family"? ha ha

Too bad the freeptards don't love their own families enough to vote for the right candidate...

My partner is Canadian and he says something like 80% of Canadians support Obama.

13. When even our...
Albertan redneck in-laws are hoping for Obama (and know McCain is the antiChrist), this is serious.

Your Canadian friend is an idiot. Guess they like the fact that the loonie is way above parity, and they're hoping it will stay that way for their trips to Vegas?

11. Thats for sure. Most of them cannot believe that our country actually elected Bush TWICE.
I have lots of Canadian friends and business aquaintances, and whenever I talk to them they cannot believe what clowns McCain, Palin, Bush, Cheney, and the entire Republican gang are.

18. Update on Canadian friend's Obama comment:
It is because of NAFTA - though I honestly don't know what she is speaking of, nor do I want to get into it. From what others have said, she is in the minority, which is all well and good.

I was just so surprised at her comment knowing how much she and other Canadians have hated Bushco all along...wisely so...and it threw me.

Anyway, her response was "it's because of NAFTA and I did not like the way Obama talked about Canada. He has never been here, has no intension in fostering good relations with us, and that's it."

No need to belabor the point; she can't vote here anyway. LOL. I just thought I'd post her reply in case others were curious.

:)

21. LOL. I simply meant that, knowing this person...
if she has this misguided/ignorant opinion, there's no sense trying to enlighten her...especially since she doesn't vote here. Nor does she really interact with many others to spread this opinion.

It's a waste of energy, as it is with many right-wing family members. In some instances, there is just no changing an attitude of willful ignorance.

I've tried. For years.

25. The world prefers Obama!

This should ease your mind
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/09/10/2008-09-10_poll_finds_worlds_preference_is_clear_ob.html

I believe I also seen a Canadian poll done that if Canadians where to vote, Obama would win by a landslide.

On NAFTA I have read a few articles where the Canadian Politicians believe a Democratic/Obama government would have little or no effect on trade agreements with there country. Canada is a economic super power when it comes to natural resources Including one of the worlds largest Oil deposits. Infact a new NAFTA agreement might even benefit Canada more because when it was first negotiated, Canada was not as economically strong. It is other places that have low wages and really cheap goods that are the problem.

Obama would also benefit your Canadian friends military. The Canadians are fighting a front line combat mission when there role is usually peace keeping. So right on for the Canadian Soldiers, standing up and being accounted for. Obama wants to move the soldiers back to Afghan where the true enemy was before Iraq. I believe Canada has been fighting for more military help from the UN and USA, but the USA has been tapped with the IRAQ mission. Obama has mentioned that several times.

The World is watching.

27. I saw one of those in Howell New Jersey, no less.
This is a fairly Republican, semi rural area and it was on the grounds of some "Bible Church". I'm not good on my Fundamentalist Denominations so I don't know whether or not they're affiliated with Palin's church. Still it was a surprise and a bit of a shock.
