Below is a link to the e-mails of those responsible for the Biden-Palin debate. The GOP wants to make it easy for Palin so it doesn't show that the woman is completely devoid of knowledge and a total ditz.

Please e-mail them and let them know that equality is equality and no adaptations and modifications should be made to the debate to suit Sarah Palin.

And K&R this post if you think others need to write them as well.

Thank you much!

1. I think playing by "girls' rules" insults women.

2. Who prepares the questions?
Isn't it the media person who moderates the debate? I would think that that's who should be contacted rather than the people making the arrangements for the university that is hosting.

4. I don't think you have to worry.
The media wants blood, and Lehrer seems to be asking the questions that Americans want to hear.

And we're tired of hearing that Palin is a maverick hockey mom who said "Thanks but No Thanks" to the Bridge to Nowhere.

5. I think that it's already been done
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 06:54 PM by Loge23
They hammered out the guidelines for this debate a couple of weeks ago - some googling around should provide some details.
But I do recall hearing that the debate was already dumbed down.

6. Here's info on the VP debate from the official debates site
"The Commission's presidential debate formats were negotiated prior to the conventions of the major parties. The vice presidential format was negotiated following the vice president selections and was finalized Saturday. The vice presidential debate will embrace the same structure as the presidential debates. However, the discussion period for the vice presidential debate will necessarily be shorter than that of presidential debates. The presidential debates will devote one 90 minute debate exclusively to foreign policy and one 90 minute debate exclusively to domestic policy. The only vice presidential debate will include both foreign and domestic issues within a 90 minute format. The vice presidential format will also allow two minutes for each candidate to offer a closing statement. Town meeting, the format for the second presidential debate, was first introduced in 1992 and has proven very popular with the viewing public. This year the moderator will include questions submitted by Internet at MyDebates.org with questions from the citizen participants.

"The detailed schedule of the CPD sponsored debates is as follows (all debates start at 9:00 p.m. EDT):

<snip>

"Vice presidential debate: all topics, moderated by Gwen Ifill
Thursday, October 2, Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.

"-Ninety-second answers, followed by two-minute discussion for each question. Two-minute closing statements."
