I hope Biden brings up Troopergate in his opening statement
If I were advising Joe Biden I would bring up Troopergate early and often. I would draw parallels to Bush and Cheney covering up scandals like the Plame affair and the US attorney firings. Palin used her the power of her office to pursue a petty, familial disagreement. Now she is pursuing a cover up with lawyers provided by the campaign. Make this debate about Palin's character.

ARE YOU LISTENING JOE BIDEN!

2. he'll be too busy bringing up "McCain is not qualified to lead this country-gate."
..... Trooper-gate speaks for itself. I dont think Biden needs to waste time on it.

5. Troopergate would be a perfect lead to McCain = Poor Judgement
Let Palin slobber and defend herself and then go after McCain's poor judgment thereafter.

4. Disagree.
We don't need Biden to go after Palin. We are ahead. The election is between Obama and McCain.

6. He needs to keep it short and simple.
Something along the line... How can you be for reform if you abused your power as Governor in TrooperGate?

10. Even simpler
Stay off the accusatory tone of that, and simplify to "the people need to know the truth, not have it covered up"

And not in any opening statement.

8. Biden needs to do what they think he won't do
Whatever that is. My hunch is the McCain camp is thinking he will avoid her and go right to McCain. Maybe a deviation from that would rattle her cage early and guarantee she stammers the whole night.

9. The LAST thing he should do is get in the mud with her, as attractive as that option might seem.
Figuratively and literally.

Obama and Biden have worked hard to establish the idea that they are the good-natured grown ups in this campaign. Stay with the script.

12. I think he should get really upset
Run across the stage in slow motion while bellowing, "SAAAAARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" in a really low voice and lunging at her (still in slow motion) but missing her by inches as he crashes on the floor behind her.

It will knock her off her game.

15. You're going to see Biden being as polite as possible to Mooseburger,
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 10:25 PM by ChimpersMcSmirkers
while simultaneously ripping McBush a new one. If nothing else, it will be a great opportunity to pretty much attack McBush with impunity. Is Failin really going to be able to defend Der McChimpenFurher?
