To me, it's not that Palin doesn't "know" certain things, it's that she makes shit up to cover
her lack of knowledge.

If being President was all about facts, then Kim Peek should be President for life. However, that's only part of the story. The bigger part is critical thinking, judgement, and INTEGRITY. When Palin tries to make shit up on the spot, her integrity score is minus one million. And it's that confabulation, as opposed to her general lack of knowing anything, that is driving her approval numbers south.

What I'm curious about tonight is how confabulatory she presents herself.

1. She lies for sport and so she paints herself into a corner.
Chickens come home to roost.

5. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel, he said essentially the same thing...
after showing a clip of Palin's interview with Couric, he said that when he was in school, they called an answer like that "bullshit."

8. That's what irks me about her.
She's gotten away with bullshitting her way through life and getting by on her looks when that didn't work so well that she thinks she can do this in front of the whole nation and get away with it.

18. Such a disaster for women...
after all that Clinton (lover her or hate her) to prove that women are totally capable of the job.

Palin just brings us back to the "if you're cute and can talking about fishing and snow-machining with the boys" you can get ahead in the world.

9. See I think she actually knows the answers on some (not all) of these
but doesn't answer because she's afraid of the consequences of her answer.

For example, the newspaper question. Who can't name a newspaper. You can't convince me that she can't name one but you can convince me that she doesn't want to name one in order to not divulge any information about herself. She is more secretive than Cheney imo, and that is damn frightening.

14. Good point!
She didn't want to site Newsweek or Time Magazine, etc., because then she would be perceived as one who reads liberal pubs.

11. It's not even that she makes shit up -- it's that she's so obvious about it.
She's not good at disguising her ignorance.

17. She is now in St. Louis, 150 miles from where I live, and I can feel
her nasty presence. This one is so hard to read and opinions of how this is going to play are all over the place. So here are my 2 cents: these are very serious times and her bullshit just isn't going to fly, well at least I hope not. Her nastiness played well with the repukelobots during the convention when things weren't so serious. Now, a month later, times have become much more dire, and I think people want and need substance. I need someone on the national stage to comfort and reassure me, I don't need some ditz who knows NOTHING spewing out total bullshit.

I can't "connect" with that and, for the life of me, can't comprehend how people can.

I want the best and the brightest leading this nation...period.

Anyway, I hope Joe mops the floor with her and puts her ass in her place!

(Sorry if this rant isn't exactly suited to this thread, but I really needed to get it out of my system.)
