Probably oughta get that fixed before she looks too far in the future.

Obama/Piden '08

Whoops! Meant to say Obama/Biden of course. Darned typos!

6. Honestly, no.
People on losing tickets historically don't do so well. Not to mention, all the Repigs praising her right now would, when running against her in 2012, TEAR HER TO SHREADS.

I expect her to be a Fox News talking head in two years.

47. Each case is different.
Consider Nixon losing against JFK then winning after LBJ bowed out.
Grover Cleveland lost re-election then came back 4 years later.

If Gore had wanted to run again in 2004 or 2008 he would had had a good chance of winning election because of his network.

Andrew Jackson did it against John Q Adams. They both ran in 1824 with Adams winning even though Jackson had the most electoral votes and most popular votes. In 1828 Jackson beat Adams and then served 2 terms.

The exception to this is that Palin doesn't have credentials. If she were to be credible she would have to move to a state in the lower 48 and get elected Governor and demonstrate her executive skills. That would also include demonstrating how she interacts with neighboring states that are impacted.

7. Let's donate to the democrats in AK
If we donate her opponent enough money, he may be able to run a good campaign and take that state from her.

Now, her running in 2012 against Obama may not be a bad thing, after all.

16. Excellent idea
Just make sure her opponent doesn't support drilling for oil, destroying AWNR, shooting down wolves from airplanes, fighting to remove polar bears from endangered list to be shot down to more room for moose/caribou. Then I will set my eyes on him/her for support.

8. No. She's the Republican Pet Rock of 2008 and is on the 14th of her 15 minutes of fame.
If she doesn't work as their good luck charm, she'll be dropped like a hot tomato (sic).

She is not and will not ever be a viable candidate.

24. In a head to head, Romney would CRUSH her.
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 11:48 AM by Curtland1015
I don't like Romney, but he is a much smarter person & a much better politician than Palin.

Add to that the fact that she will already have shown herself to be beatable, and her aversion to one on one interviews (this wouldn't be like running for VP), and she would be destroyed.

10. I think it depends on how much McCain loses by.
If it is by an embarrassing margin, I think we've probably seen the last of her. If it isn't, then yes, she'll probably be back in 4 or 8 years. Here is to hoping we don't see her again after this election cycle.

14. No.
Obama will win in November and McCain's choice of Palin will be seen, at best, as being "no help" for the Republican cause.

The fundie nutbags like her, but they also, at best, will be seen as being no help for the Republican cause.

Obama will carry red states McCain figured he'd win easily. We will win both the electoral college and the popular vote while the GOP will have to sit their smug, ignorant asses down and retool. They can't continue with the current formula of unethical corporate greedheads and Armageddon-now morons.

31. No. Freepers can hold on to their delusions but she's ruined her career.
Her career is officially over and the longer she goes on with the farce the worst her political expectations in AK have been burnt to ashes. She has joined a failed ticket. She is in the midst of the worst type of economic crisis in the nation and can't handle it. She is known all over the nation as someoneo who has forced rape victims to pay for their medical kits. She has not only ruined the life of a well-liked and possibly loved commissioner who fought for women's rights and then calls him a liar.

Further more SNL and her interviews will live on with infamy as well as her infamous statement of not answering the questions at the debate but calling it a win.
