"Marriage is meant to be a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers"
I'm sorry, but I just watched the SNL opening from last night, and it is one of the best in their history. "Joe Biden" was great, too (poor Scranton), as was Queen Latifah as Gwen Ifill. But Tina Fey has GOT to win an Emmy for her series of performances as Sarah Palin. Another quote, denying that she is pandering to Florida:

"From a very young age, my two greatest loves were Israel and Cuban food."

Priceless. I know it's up here, but here is another very good and clear link: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081004/NEWS15/81005004/&imw=Y

1. I didn't think Jason Sudeikis did a good job with Biden at all.
I also didn't think he was very good at playing Dubya later in the show (I wonder why they aren't having Will Forte do Bush anymore?).

2. I disagree. I thought he was good. The Scranton stuff was hilarious.
But, that's OK. I assume we agree on Tina Fey here.

7. I think Tiny Fey is inspired.
I like Jason Sudeikis generally, but I thought both his Biden and his Bush were off.

8. Didn't like his Bush, but I thought his Biden was good.
I agree on the Bush thing, but the smiles really captured Biden, I think.

3. I completely agree.
Of the three Palin parodies so far, last night was the funniest. And yes, Tina Fey deserves an Emmy for her takeoff of Palin. It's nothing short of brilliant.

6. Yep. Live in Maryland now, but looking to get back to the great state of Michigan.

Born in Detroit, raised in Warren, went to Wayne and Michigan State. Best state anywhere, and that's no knock on beautiful and historic Maryland, which is Obama country all the way.

Still, Michigan is home, and Traverse City is retirement, in about eight years (or less, hopefully).

5. And I liked the "whose its what's it" line, too. But bringing out the flute was pure gold, IMO.
Palin looks and sounds like she is performing in a booty pageant every time someone turns a camera on her or shoves a mike in her face, imo. To me, that's what made pulling out the flute so hilarious! LOL

10. the audience loved that line, too
I've read that the wedding is planned for spring rather than before the election... I wonder if the campaign found out it would backfire because the shotgun-weddingness of it would have been too off-putting.
