Mc Must Be Feeling Like Mondale These Days |
|
Back in 1984, the country was very happy with Reagan (don't ask me why...I can't explain it past the feel-good crapola of the day). Winning was not in the cards for Mondale. The country just wasn't interested.
Now, the country doesn't feel good at all, because bush has been a complete FU. The Rs and Mc are the ones behind the eight ball. The country wants a change, and that change is Obama.
Which is why all of the attacks Mc tries will have no effect. The country is done with Rs, at least for the foreseeable future. The country wants to give Ds a chance.
Obama wins. The country wins. Mc loses. Rs lose.

1. Except that Mondale would have made a better president |
|
and the country lost when Reagan was reelected.

2. No doubt, but that's not why the country voted how it did |
|
or will vote for Obama. Obama being great is a bonus.

3. Anything would've been better than Reagan, but I think Mondale would have been Carter Part II. |

I love how the Democrats think.
"Hey, Reagan has an approval rating of around 45%, so maybe we can knock off the incumbent!"
"Yeah? Who should we run?"
"Mondale."
"Jimmy Carter's Vice President?"
"Yeah! Let's run the Vice President to the least popular president in modern American history!"
"Perfect."

5. Gary Hart is a pal of McCain's and |
|
McCain channeled Hart earlier in the campaign. (I think I may have read that Hart attended McCain's wedding, may even have been in the wedding party?)
Remember Hart, "If you think I'm fucking her, then just watch me. Put surveillance on me." Uh, OK, Gary we will.
Earlier in the campaign, McCain challenged a reporter to check his facts on a bald lie (I can't remember it now) and got caught. The first thing I thought was "Gary Hart."

8. I think Mondale was more liberal than Carter |
|
he might have surprised us. My point was that Mondale had (and still has - maybe today more than ever) the comfort of knowing the country made a major mistake when it reelected Reagan. Sooner or later, if he has any feeling for this country at, McCain will have to admit (at least to himself) that electing Obama was the smart thing to do.

6. Or like Bush Sr. ca. 1992. |
|
It was McCain's turn, damn it!
I have only contempt for corporate stooges who expect to be made president when they reach a certain weight.
