Is anyone else surprised that McCain's "my fellow prisoners" comment isn't getting more airplay?

There are a lot of silly, nitpicky gaffes that get overplayed on both sides.

But this one seems different to me. He didn't hesitate. It wasn't as if it were the sort of brain fart we're all used to. He didn't seem to realize the mistake at all.

The words aren't similar in sound, meaning, or anything else. It's like that word teleported into the sentence from a different part of his brain.

It isn't the biggest deal in the world, but it sure did stand out. It got no more than a passing mention, even though it touches on a very real issue.

I don't normally play up this gaffes, and sometimes get annoyed at people on both sides who do. And I don't think this rates a primetime news special. But it does merit a little more notice than it got.

Given that this guy wants to have his finger on The Button in a few months, I would think that slip would disturb some republicans, as well as democrats.

5. I think it shows the word 'prisoner' is at the top of his vocab pile, no matter the subject.
To me, this smacks of either: a.) glibness or b.) obsession.

Neither can be good.

7. I think you're right. b) is the more likely as it explains his constant use of POW
as a platform, practically.

Too damn bad he didn't say it in the debate last night.
