My husband just met this wonderful woman.
He was in the front yard and saw this sweet old lady walking her dog.

Sweet Little Old Lady - Where did you get those wonderful yards signs?

Husband - Oh we got them on line.

SLOL - Oh, well don't have a computer but I'd love to get one.

H - Oh, if you like we can order one for you.

SLOL - Oh thank you. That would be so nice. Ya know what makes me so upset is that we have to go all the way to Echo Park to vote. I don't drive and that's so far away. So I got my absentee ballot and voted.

H - Well how did you vote on Prop 8?

SLOL - Well NO of COURSE!!!!!

I just ordered a yard sign for her. We don't know where she lives, but if again I'll give be happy to put it in her yard.

Yeah ... I'll all crying again!!!!

Bless her heart.

12. My mom used to do that when I was a kid...
I grew up in a very political family:) Some of my earliest memories are of my mother painting campaign signs in our garage... and me in my old wooden playpen looking on. On election day, I would ride with her all over town, picking up people and going to the polls. All ages, anyone who needed a ride... Democrat... Republican... she encouraged everyone to vote. She had very strong political views, but on this particular day she would keep it zipped and just praise people for making the effort to get out and vote! I remember once we have five generations of our family in the car, heading for the polling place! My great grandmother lived to be 99.75 years old, and she voted in every election until the day she left us.

GADS! No wonder I'm a freaking political junkie! Jeez!

but I own a lot up in Mt. Washington.

Thinking about planting fruit trees up there if I can buy some water from a neighbor.

Somewhat neighborly.
