The second debate was a "realization" moment for some.

How about where you are?

4. No, the actual Republicans saying "McCain's done, looks like Obama will be president".
Stuff like that.

3. Yup, one of my neighbors took down her McCain sign this morning.
I'd ask her about it except she's kind of goofy. The type of person who always votes repub because she wants affordable daycare, health care, better education, less spending on the military, etc. Hard to figure out.

7. Yeah, that sounds like
a true conservative. :eyes:

I think some people just vote the way their parents voted 50 years ago sort of by rote. No thought to the issues; it's just the way they always have. Go figure.

5. My RW relatives
who manage to find every possilbe Obama smear imaginable out there to forward to me have been very quiet. Oh, I get the same lame jokes, but the political stuff has pretty much stopped.

Although, he hasn't come out and said it I am beginning to think that 8 years of Repug rule may have actually turned one of them to at least think about Obama. I know he hates McCain and thinks Bush has been a disaster. even if he doesn't vote for Obama he won't be wimpering in the corner if Obama wins.

A. "Earmarks."

6. It was destiny
From the beginning I said that no 72 year old candidate would be able to maintain energy, excitement and drive behind his campaign to close the deal.

In a media age, ageism is just too strong of a headwind.

17. Well he has no message
and no personality.

But even if he did, he would have lost. And picking Palin was one of the dumbest moves in political history.

8. Eternal Vigilance!!!!
Trying to lull us into letting down our guard. GOTV, election monitoring, etc needs to be done as if we are behind!

And, we need the Senate and House as well!!

9. Woman I work with said
that after last nights debate her husband finally admitted she was right and mccain is too old and he'll be voting Obama...I fed her the line that mccain was 20th century and Obama was 21st century to use on him, so I guess he saw it...

12. My dad (a big economic republican) is sure pissed at McCain from the debate
My dad is really mad about McCain's 'housing solution' speech he mentioned in the debate.

He was ranting about how doing that plan would permanently in effect raise the values of homes since lenders would charge more money when you're borrowing a house, for fear of the government stepping in like McCain proposes and making them take a loss on the loan. (that's basically what he said)

Of course, no matter how much he gets mad at McCain, there's still no way he's voting for Obama.

18. He's right, it was mentioned on Maddow's show. Resulting in the banks actually
coming out on top and the people get cut from their homes anyway.

13. wouldn't it be great if many of these people who are throwing
in the towel lose the will to vote on 11/4, and maybe even some actually voting for Obama?

elections all you saw in my tiny little rural rePuke town were bu$h signs. Now, I am not seeing very many mclame/failin signs at all. I don't know if they are not supporting mclame, or if they are just too ashamed and don't want to put their sings out

21. Huge McCain Palin yard signs gone from guy's lawn in our area
This guy a couple of miles from us had 2 gigantic McCain/Palin yard signs with a huge American flag stuck in the ground next to one of them. He also had a big Michelle Bachman sign and the sign of the Republican who is actually running for that seat (I have no idea why he has a Michelle Bachman sign). He also has a normal size Norm Coleman sign.

After the VP debate we noticed that the 2 McCain/Palin signs were gone and the flag was back on the house. All of the other signs were moved to the middle of the lawn where the McCain signs had been so I don't think they were stolen.

We are seeing a lot more Obama signs and even more Obama bumper stickers in the last few days.
