Why have McCain and Palin, the candidates, leapt headlong THEMSELVES into this Ayers smear? |
|
Traditionally even candidates who are engaging in a smear keep their own fingerprints off of it even if it's pretty obvious it came from them (see: Swiftboat Veterans).
Is it because their situation is so dire that they see spreading this shit themselves as the only reliable way to get it into the headlines, instead of relying on 527s and ads?
Or is McCain just that much more of a douchebag than even shrub or shrub senior?
What?

3. I'd say a little of the former and a LOT of the latter. |

4. Yeah, they really are that desperate |
|
The story is so lame that the only way for them to keep the media talking about it is for them to say it themselves. And it's going to get old REAL fast.

5. Or is it possibly lack of money to spend on ad buys? Gotta have the candidate make the headlines? |
|
Get free exposure by the press?
