Holy shit, Batman! Dennis Hopper endorses Obama.
He's the creme de la creme of conservative celebrities and even he is voting Obama! :bounce:

"I voted for Bush, father and son, but this time I'll vote for Obama," he told journalists at the opening of a show on his life and work at the Paris cinematheque.

"I was the first person in my family to have been Republican," he added. "For most of my life I wasn't on the left."

"I pray God, Barack Obama is elected," he said, criticising the current administration's many "lies."

38. Eisenhower Republican
he was HUGE into voter registration drives in the early 1960s back when the Dixiecrat Democrats still preached segregation, the Johnson the Dixiecrat Dem had the war in Vietnam......The pocketbook part may have been the reason post Reagan but before it he was a Republican like Hillary Clinton was, an ideological supporter of equality and freedom for all.

39. Come on now, he did more for civil rights
than many of us, he risked a lot to do voter registration drives in the south back in the sixties and has been a Republican ever since. We cannot just say anyone who voted Republican is an asshole or that it trumps out what they did for the world.

52. First and foremost, he was and remains a high profile Bush supporter...
and yes that in itself is plenty of reason. It goes far beyond Bush however - he's chummy with Newt Gingrich and is well know for donating heavily to GOP causes. He's recently appeared in the vile "An American Carol" and regularly ridicules progressives and liberal values everywhere from talk shows to commercials (including work for the sweatshop kings at Nike). He's on record for abusing past spouses and he's even staged suicide attempts for publicity value. Need I go on? Some of his films are of interest, but the man himself is an unpleasant egocentric scum.
