Following the election, there'll be need for a "Vindictive Sarah Palin Watch"
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 05:07 PM by brentspeak
Palin's history strongly suggests that she often tries to "get back" at Alaskans who criticize her. Many Wasilla residents, for example, have refused to identify themselves when interviewed by national newspapers, for fear of Palin-initiated retaliation. I suspect that if and when McCain/Palin loses, Sarah will be returning to Alaska with a greatly-expanded "enemies list" -- possibly encompassing even some average, ordinary Alaskan citizens. Palin is definitely the kind of person in power one needs to be wary of.

18. I live in WA and appreciate your fine sentiments for a close state, AK
You do know that AK and WA have many ties and indeed Seattle is often called the furthest south city in AK, right?

The "appreciate" your sentiments was sarcasm though.

Clear?

19. 1000 miles away with the 2nd largest country in the world between us is "close"???
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 06:58 PM by BlooInBloo

And *who* precisely "often" calls Seattle "the furthest south city in AK"?

EDIT: Questions are better with question marks.

EDITEDIT: It occurs to me that it's possible that you meant "close" in a sense other than distance.

20. Lot of business, lot of people go between the 2 states. You are either joshing me or
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 07:23 PM by uppityperson
are ignorant of the connection. If joshing, I have no more time to waste. If ignorant, I'd suggest you do some research into fishing, lumber business, shipping, travel between AK and WA.

Edited to agree with your edit. ""close" in a sense other than distance."

PTHS graduate one of four survivors in Alaska fishing boat accident

When Rebecca Foster received news that the fishing boat Katmai had gone down in the stormy waters of the Bering Sea, at first it was a mother's worst nightmare. Her 23-year-old son Adam Foster - a 2004 Port Townsend High School graduate who moved to Shoreline, Wash., a year ago - is one of 11 crew members who were aboard the 93-foot vessel when it flooded and sank southwest of Alaska's Aleutian Islands at 1 a.m. on Oct. 22. Six hours after the first phone call, Rebecca learned that her son is also one of four survivors.

A spokesman for Katmai's owners contacted Rebecca around 3 p.m. on Oct. 22, about 14 hours after the boat broadcasted a signal from an emergency beacon that prompted a U.S. Coast Guard search.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Rebecca received another phone call from Katmai's spokesman. "He told me that, for me, he had excellent news and that Adam was one of the survivors," she said. "He just told me that I should be expecting a call from my son."

It was midnight when Adam finally contacted his mother. Due to his emotional distress, Rebecca didn't ask many questions. Instead, she let her son talk. "He just repeatedly said that he fought to live," Rebecca said. "He just said that over and over and over again. The other thing he kept saying is how bad he felt that he couldn't save everybody."

2. Not to worry Alaskans
Sarah has had a taste of the Big Leagues. That is more addictive than crack cocaine. She is a darling of the radical right. We will see more of her in the lower 48. By the time of the 2010 elections, she will join Blackjack Bill Bennett, Pitchfork Pat Buchanan and Bay Bitch Buchanan as "independent commentators" on the cable propaganda channels.

We haven't seen the last of Secessionist Sarah.

We may have a little "vindictiveness" towards her, as well. It could be a bloodbath.
