|

1. I think it needs to be pointed out over and over |
|
that the worst security failure in our history occurred while Bush was president. How that makes him strong on security absolutely baffles me.

4. And that Cheney was in charge of the terror threat. |
|
He did nothing about it of course. Too busy sticking his smarmy face in Ken Lay's butt.

that so many people in this country are voting for Bush because 911? I dont get it and no one has explained this to me....
Terrorism was amajor problem long before Bush took the WH....and Clinton, by all acocunts, was obsessed with al qaeda and fighting terrorism....they stopped so many planned attacks and warned Bush about the seriousness of the matter....yet Bush and hs thugs put it on the back burner and ignored the warning (never shook the tress) and then 911 happends and now Bush is using 911 for re-election? WTF?

my first thought.
It happened on Bush's watch. They ignored "Bin Ladin Planning to Attack in the United States." They didn't read the memo but want us to give them 4 more years.

This administration was caught with its pants down, looking up at the sky for "ICBMs from rogue nations" (read Iraq).
They were misappropriating defense funds AWAY from counter-terrorism and back toward Reagan-era programs like "Star Wars."
They were ignoring information and advice from the previous administration, ignoring the Hart-Rudman report, ignoring their own daily briefings and memos, ignoring their own counter-terrorism advisor, Richard Clarke -- because they didn't want to hear it. They wanted to return the focus to Iraq.
THEY FAILED, and now they're exploiting 9/11 as if it were their greatest hour. It's infuriating.

It's now fair game to criticize him over this. They opened the door now Kerry needs to slam it shut.

7. The Bush team dropped the ball. They ignored the Hart/Rudman report and |
|
Sandy Berger's repeated warnings. Richard Clarke says they were too focused on Iraq.
