I'm a small business owner ready for Obama's health care reforms

I am a partner in a small law firm and we employ about 25 people including the lawyers. We were informed this week that our monthly premium will rise from $9000 to nearly $15,000 per month. Our rent is about $10,000 a month by the way. Why did the rate skyrocket? Well, its gone up 20% per year pretty consistently since we were founded 15 years ago. But a very valued legal assistant had a difficult pregnancy and her baby was born prematurely. The baby has been in the hospital for a few months and thank goodness he'll be okay. But this unbelievable increase in our rates really is tough. My partner and I will cut our salaries so we can make sure our employees continue to get health insurance. We're lucky and make enough where we can do this. But what about the small business that is barely making the rent payment?

And it's not just small businesses dealing with this. GM is going broke in large part because the most expensive part of building a car is now paying the worker's health premium.

The most anti-business position a candidate can take right now is to say we're not going to change anything about the health care system. We need to get costs under control and make health insurance accessible to all Americans. I'm ready for the Democrats to finally get their hands around this national crisis. We need a 60 seat majority in the Senate, a 270 seat majority in the House and a President Obama to solve this problem.
