9. You should be watching Rachel and Keith.......and then you would know.....
McCain has his own connection to Khalidi.

In 1993, McCain became chairman of the International Republican Institute. He still chairs that respected organization.

That same year, Khalidi helped found the Center for Palestine Research and Studies, self-described as “an independent academic research and policy analysis institution” created to meet “the need for active Palestinian scholarship on issues related to Palestine.” (Its archived Web site is HERE.)

Khalidi was on the board of trustees through 1999.

According to tax returns, the McCain-chaired IRI funded the organization Khalidi founded and served on to the tune of $448,873 in 1998 (click HERE to see the tax return)* as first reported by Seth Couter Walls at HuffPo.

The IRI continued to give money to the CPRS after Khalidi left the group as well.

Asked to respond to this seeming contradiction.....

14. Couldn't pass up another opportunity to watch McCain make an ass out of himself
After Obama's political special.

This is the first I've heard of this, so it registered as one last attempt at trying to throw something at Obama that might stick.

He can't even deliver a proper October surprise.

15. there is NOTHING wrong with Rashid Khalidi anyway. He is an
outspoken advocate for the plight of the Palestinians and there is NOTHING wrong with that. Racist RW pro-Israel David Horowitz/Alan Dershowitz types like to demonize him as they do anybody who acknowledges that the Palestinians are actual human beings worthy of some sort of dignity. I read "The Iron Cage" by him and it was quite good.

19. It runs concurrent with attempts by McCain and Palin to characterize Obama as a terrorist.
And a "Jew hater", to boot. Reeks of one last feeble attempt to try and slice away some of the Jewish electorate in Florida.

18. Rashid Khalidi is a perfectly good American who happens to disagree with our policies on Israel as
many others do, including myself. This new line of attack is nothing short of xenophobic racism designed to deeply frighten people of the next potential President of the United States. McCain and his campaign is utterly shameful.

26. Absolutely. I couldn't agree more.
It's the most shameful attempt by any Republican run for President to sew the seeds of mistrust for the future President into the American electorate. Disgusting and shameful.

He's destroying his Party, all the while they were undermining his run for the highest office in the land. The Republicans are in complete disarray. Nothing could make me more happy right about now.

22. Another Dog Whistle ...

The only problem with this guy is that he has one of them thar furrin' sounding names.

Not like "us." Different. Different is BAD.

Notice McLumpy doesn't really saying anything about WHY Obama's praising him is bad, just that it is.

And of course, as was said, McCain helped make sure half a million made its way to Khalidi's research.

This is no "surprise." Same shit. Same smell. NOT WORKING.

McLame should start polishing his concession speech now. Avoid the rush.

23. They couldn't even make hay with this old story on KFI this AM.
Bill Handel, who never met a Dem he truly liked, is endorsing Obama and said the Khalidi story is a lot of bunk, that Khalidi is a MODERATE and a HIGHLY RESPECTED UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR and CONDEMS PALESTINIAN TERRORISM ON THE RECORD AS WAR CRIMES. And yes, Handel is a pro-Israeli Jewish attorney.

This ain't going anywhere.
