I just got back from the bar, and I'm pumped
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 03:23 AM by JohnnyRingo
I'm in NE Ohio, and I've had it.

I went out tonight in full Obama regalia with shirt, buttons, and attitude.
I waited for awhile, but no one made a comment until I finally heard a negative aside about our Democratic Congressman, Tim Ryan.

I jumped right in, explaining the benefits of the "pork" he brings the Mahoning Valley, and added that I was glad Obama would be the next president.
...That would begin the match.

I was ready to rock, and let me explain that while I'm older, I'm big enough and bad enough to not fear for my safety, so no man was granted quarter tonight.

I debated, berated, and disemboweled every Republican talking point that was thrown my way, as I parried and thrust between the racists and Joe The Plumber followers. I laughed at their assertions of Islam, and scoffed at the misconceptions of tax policy. I ducked and weaved clear of their claims of socialism, and returned their offensive with a clear cut course to recovery from the Buxh years.

Haha ha!

Eventually, the Barstool Republicans backed me up the stairs, and I gained the support of the moderate drunks at the bar. They cheered me as I battled my way back down the staircase and with a flick of my far left wrist and with truth on my side, I disarmed the Palinites, sending their weak and inferior weapons to the curtains.
I turned to the McCainiacs, looking for a confrontation, but they put aside their barbs, and returned to their drinks.

Then I carved a backwards "B" on one of their chests with my "Hope" pin.
"Tell your friends", I said.

So... what did you guys do tonight?

8. I loved the part about the pork, you sly dog!
These days we should call it the Energy Saving Lightbulb Barrel, or the Local Farmer's Market Organic Carrot Barrel.

But, hey, those Halliburton Oil Barrels, and Blackwater Gun Barrels, and Barrels of Coin For We Know Not What Bound For We Know Not Where, are SO-O-O-O BIG, they're sinking the barky. It's time to clear the deck, bail water, patch the sails, hew a new mast and hoist it up, and go back to hauling useful cargo that fits in the hold. But pork ain't in it. That's bad for your cholesterol. We need a new word. Overhead Projector Barrel? Planetarium Barrel? Bridge To Somewhere Barrel? New Deal Barrel? Real Commodities Not Bad Mortgage Derivatives Barrel? Bread Lines Barrel?
