If Obama Gave Lieberman A Cabinet Position, Who Takes His Senate Seat?
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 07:45 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
And then if Obama does such a thing, gives it a little time to not look obvious, and then throws Lieberman out on his ass, would we then have a SOLID dem vote in that weasel's place, while having a real dem also then in that cabinet position?

1. Connecticut has a Republican governor
So I don't think your strategy would work.

14. How about Maine?
I did not know that about AZ.

Well, How about Maine? PA, OH, IA, NH, Kansas, or the other states with Democratic Gov's and R's taking up Senate space we might could use? Maine particularly seems to have potential.

9. Good idea! Oh, I long for the day Lieberman gets tossed out of office.
Douchey little weasel man.

I *hate* how he's become the poster boy for the right wingers' argument that "Obama is so liberal that a Democratic senator has endorsed McCain." Never mind that Obama has a list of Republican supporters a yard long; all I hear is "But ... but ... Lieberman backs McCain!"

12. If The Circumstances In CT Were Such That A Democratic Senator Would Take His Place,
then the strategic advantage of it would be nothing close to being ridiculous. The fact that after a certain time period he could just be thrown out on his ass without rhyme or reason, without having to wait another 4 years for his seat to come up for reelection, makes the scenario even less ridiculous.
