Our Happy Obamaween Experience
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 07:57 PM by JFN1
Wow. What a response we've received tonight. We have our Obama pumpkins (one his logo, one his face), and Obama signs all over the yard. We make no bones about who we are supporting.

We had about 175 - 200 Trick-or-Treaters come through tonight (based on candy consumption). Of that number, we had exactly two families who walked by, refusing to enter our property - we assume due to our Obama paraphernalia.

The most amazing thing was the kids. I estimate that 70% of them said the name "Obama" - positively, too - once they were on on our property, and in pretty much all age groups (except the tiny tykes). Why is this significant?

Because kids don't pay attention to politics, for the most part. But their parents do...!

All in all, it was totally amazing, and a wonderful experience.

GOBAMA!!!!!!!!! And Happy Obamaween, everybody!!

1. I have some Obama flyers...
and I fully intend to hand them out with the candy. My fundie mom used to pass out religious tracts, so why not? I'm a crazy middle-aged lady, and I can get away with stuff like that.

2. I walked with my kids; hubby stayed home
He said lots of people loved my Obama-lantern and even took pictures. <preen>

I don't know if anyone refused to come to the door; and I don't really care, either!

PS - Obama won by a landslide in the high school mock election. Whoo hoo!

5. They didn't like my sign too much:
Welcome Kiddies:

Leave your goodies in the box below,
Leave quietly,
And no one will get hurt.
