Is McCain going into "McBaghdad Bob" mode?
Everything McCain is saying doesn't seem to tally with the present polls. Obama is in a far better position than Kerry in 2004. McCain's run out of Bogeymen for Obama and we haven't hit him with the Keating 5 yet. Is the McTitanic going to go down on Tuesday night or is Bush going to pull a fast one?

2. He is confident that the fix is in
That is obvious by his, and his campaigns, bizarre confidence.

3. Well he HAS to sound confident.
If he comes out and admits he's going to lose, his remaining supporters will desert him and it will be an embarrassing defeat.

As it stands now, if Obama wins the popular vote by 5 or 6%, that's not an embarrassment for McCain.

4. He's worried about his supporters showing up to the polls
So he has to make it seem like he's doing good

6. What the fuck do you want him to say?
"I'M A MASSIVE WANKER AND I'M GONNA FUCKING LOSE!"

Yeah, that's gonna happen.

7. If he gives up, it hurts GOP downticket races
His job at this point is to appear confident and to run the race through the finish line. Otherwise, his GA supporters stay home in sufficient numbers to cost Chambliss his seat.

10. I'm not so sure.
I think he could be hurting the downticket races more by his presence than his absence at this point.
