"Trick or Treaters" and reaction to my "Obama/Biden" sign in the yard:
We live in a neighborhood that is perfect for "trick or treating" and as always we had a bunch of kids showing up at the door.

I was sitting outside on my front porch, which had been decorated with a big bat, and some ghosts, etc. We were playing some Halloween music (funny, not scary).

One of our pumpkins, we had carved with the Obama logo, and out in our front yard we had up our "Obama/Biden" sign. A wagon load of people drove by and saw the sign and started cheering---"Obama! GOBAMA!" and waving. They had been to the house a few moments before.

Another group walked by. I overhead one person say, "Look! Obama/Biden." Another in the group said, "Let's don't stop there." My daughter looked at me, and I remarked, "Fine by me. Here I am trying to "share the wealth (big grin), and if they don't want candy, just more for everybody else."

Sad, that a parent would keep a child from a house on Halloween because of a sign in the yard.

Oh, well.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

3. There's a great irony in your post.
Fine by me. Here I am trying to "share the wealth (big grin), and if they don't want candy, just more for everybody else."

Like the ones who boo at Palin/McCain rallies, these people have some serious problems.

5. It was the adult who said, "Let's not go there."
Not the children.

more than 250,000 pieces in the bag!

10. LOL my kids would have been SCREWED this year
if we had avoided each and every yard that had a McCain Palin sign! We traditionally go every year to my daughter's great grandma's neighborhood, sadly she passed this Monday. Her neighbors are all great, we know most of them, they are retired mainly, and this IS Texas.

16. Same here. We live in rural Georgia. We have about 100 homes
in our neighborhood. Probably 50 McCain signs, and 3 Obama/Biden signs. But, my children are now too old for trick or treat.

The wife is nice, he's a real piece of work though. And how is that a way to great your guests on halloween. I'll note, he had that sign down for a while, but put it back up today. Maximum exposure I guess. God help me Tuesday. I'm going to be at the polls all day, as will he. *sigh*

18. No one skipped our house.
Of course, most of the people in my neighborhood are Obama supporters and some of them were wearing Obama buttons. I live in a pretty conservative county but my neighborhood is an oasis of liberal sanity.

I just kept hearing people say to their kids things like "did you go to Obama's yet" or "let's go to Obama's". There were a couple of parents who stood back and I'm sure they were probably McCain supporters, but we would say hi and they were very polite.

Our sign is cemented in so we are not going to take it down until after Tuesday.

I also noticed on the way home from work tonight that just about every 4th car had an Obama sticker on it. I didn't see any McCain stickers. I work in Minneapolis so that makes sense, but I've never seen so many Obama stickers as I did today.

19. I took my three signs down to save the parents!
Didn't want some asshole like you had have to explain why Obama was such a bad guy, because in 10 years that parent will look like a real dip shit to his/her kid. The signs will go back up at 9:00! (the Obama t shirt is still on the motorcycle blow up skeleton)

23. If I saw a McSame/Pale
sign in a yard, I don't know what I'd do: tell the kids to take all their candy, move on to the next house, or throw an egg.

24. Had some good reax here, too
One lady admired my Barack O'Lantern. Another little Asian (Vietnamese? Korean? Hard to tell in the dark) lady saw my sign, jabbered something in whatever language, then said "Obama!" and gave us a thumbs-up. Cool!

:bounce:

25. "McCain" scared the kids
Almost every other house here has an Obama sign. Many parents of trick-or-treaters (including yours truly) were wearing Obama shirts & buttons. One door was answered by a guy wearing a life-sized McCain cut-out, saying "Meet your next president." The kids screamed and booed. Then the guy said, "Make sure your parents vote, or I am your future - Hahahahahaha."
