This pasty white guy was just thanked for voting for Obama
By a group of young black kids at my door trick or treating. They said thanks for the candy and thanks for voting for Obama!

I don't know why it tickled me but it did. I told em you betcha, gave em a wink and told em Obama rocks!

Imagine that being thanked by kids for doing whats best for our countries future.

This is a very special time indeed.

Happy Halloween DU.

I've read a lot of stories like this. People canvasing and having black people thank them for pulling for Obama. Hey, they're just voting for the best candidate! I'd vote for Obama if he was an albino midget!

4. Okay, I'll come out and say it.
It's almost like (without intention) advertising "I am not a bigot".

And by this election people are able to see that there is hope for unity among us.

I have both Black and White in my family, and I realize what is out there, but I sincerely didn't think I'd see this many White people willing to vote for a Black candidate. It's been amazing and has given me alot of hope for my loved ones.

6. Someone on m$nbc said tonight, Americans can put up with a lot
of things, but not for false intelligence (speaking about Palin) once they're clued in. (BIG paraphrase)

Senator Obama has blown me away for so long because of his intelligence, I could not care less about his color. And after the dim one, he's a breath of fresh air.

I'm white, and I adore him and his family, and the possibilities.

7. it was never about color for me from the begining
I guess thats why it tickles me to be thanked for voting and promoting what is clearly the best candidate. It's like being thanked for breathing, was there any other choice?

On the flip side if my whiteness voting for a black guy gives young black kids hope for their future then by all means let me do it over and over.

10. Like David Sedaris said, it's comparable to being on an airplane and the
flight attendant comes by with the cart to offer you a choice of chicken of a platter of shit with ground glass in it.

3. The hope for our future is unity.
How encouraging. I will always hope that one day that dream can be achieved.

5. Same here. Just ran into a guy walking home while I was canvassing
He waved, I waved. He was looking at my clipboard and I said I was canvassing for Obama. He said "Halleluja!"

11. I always wear my Obama button when I go out
and today the 7/11 clerk gave me a big thumbs up and he even knew where we were at on the Ca polling. Another smart young Obama voter.
