I voted today for the Smartest MF'r in the room

Yeah man, yeah! And it feels good.

I know that South Carolina is traditionally RED, but I think the results here are going to surprise a lot of people ... an upset is probably too much to ask for, but I think it will much closer than anyone seems to anticipate. All I can say is I do not SEE what the polls seem to indicate, not on the street, nor at the polling place. From what I've seen and heard ... well I'm just going to say "I" won't be surprised if Obama takes SC FWIW.

Had to wait in line 3 and a half hours, but that was good compared to some who voted earlier that took 5 hours. Seems they started with only 2 machines (actually, I'd been told there was only 1 for early voting) but shortly before I arrived they'd brought in 2 more for a total of four, and it speeded things along a bit.

All the poll workers were very helpful and friendly, and I didn't see anyone getting hassled or turned away. In fact, an older black man I waited in line with went blank when asked "why" he was voting today. Apparently he didn't know that in SC you have to provide a designated reason for voting early (because you don't want to face the crowd on election day is NOT a legitimate reason) but the lady just handed him a paper with the "acceptable" excuses and asked him if he didn't want to give her a reason listed on the paper. So I didn't see any evidence that they trying to disenfranchise anyone there.

Being Pagan I thought that voting would be an excellent way to start my new year. I'm glad I did, now I'm free to do whatever needs doing on election day. All in all it was a productive "feel good" kind of day.

4. It's a beautiful thing we are witnessing.....
History being made one day at a time.

We got us a winner! Even the U.K. Guardian endorsed Obama today.
Read and weep....as it is a beautiful endorsement, and illustrate why this election is so important!
One of the few that made me cry.

14. That is actually some jaw dropping news!
Very exciting to dare to dream of a landslide. I was touched by your description of the kind social worker acting compassionately toward a confused older fellow. Thanks for being our Eyes_wide_open in SC. And double thanks for that very good bit of news. :woohoo: :kick:
