Caroline Kennedy, RFK Jr. in Obama's Cabinet?
FROM THE RUMOR MILL

It appears that Senator Barack Obama is already thinking forward to January, and has some very firm ideas in mind as to who will serve in his administration.

According to Politico.com, a couple of Kennedys are on his short list, and RFK Jr. is one of them.

Citing “sources close to Barack Obama,” the article says that Caroline Kennedy may be tapped as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is being given “serious consideration” for Secretary of the Interior.

The list of other potential cabinet officials is long and fascinating, indeed - how about Sen. Gary Hart as Homeland Security Director? Bill Richardson as Secretary of State? Al Gore as “Ambassador at large on climate change” (hey, is that a real job?) and even a few Republicans as well, most notably California Governor (and Kennedy cousin-by-marriage) Arnold Schwarzenegger as Secretary of Energy.

If Obama wins the presidency next Tuesday, it looks very possible that for the Kennedys, an Obama administration could become a “family affair.”

8. That was the one appointment that jarred for me too. Especially
given Arnold's cozy relations with oil companies and questionable role in the Enron machinations.

Sure hope that one is WRONG.

Caroline at the UN would be okay if she has specialized in foreign affairs. If not, perhaps another post.

RFK at Interior makes sense due to his being an environmental lawyer by trade.

7. Arnold better not be on that short list.
I understand that Obama wants to reach out to the other side, but I think that approaching Arnold is like having Obama's arm being pulled out of its socket. Was he asleep when the entire recall business went down in California?

Obama has to remember which side he's on before that happens.

16. Lol, to you and Frenchie Cat. But, I think picking Arnold is a mistake.
Arnold is not to be trusted. He has brought California down to its knees--especially with the budget in shambles.

He needs to be shuffled out of the seat of power and back to managing his restaurant in Venice, Ca.

it's better than that other idiotic story floating around that defense sec gates is on his short list to stay on as sec of defense.

19. Yeah, I know, Arnold is a head-scratcher for me, too
...but I know that RFK Jr. is quite keen on him (not just because he's family), and reportedly helped cousin Arnie to craft his "progressive" energy policy for Cali-forn-ia.

26. While Clinton on SCOTUS might be a nice thought
I'd rather we put someone younger, and who hasn't had a bypass. Apologies in advance if that comes across as crass.
