Poll question: What is your level of optimism/pessimism right now when it comes to the election?
I would put myself in the cautiously optimistic category. I think an Obama win is possible and things look good, but I won't be celebrating until he is declared the victor.

3. Other
Other, and here's why: Extremely optimistic that Obama is going to steamroll McCain in a historic romp, but with big caveats from the non-rational parts of me chiming in with, "yeah, but those bastards seem to always pull something out of their hats and they cannot be trusted any more than a cobra can be trusted around your children". I can't give you a single rational scenario in which Obama would lose, but I'm wary of these cretins.

4. Kerry got 251 EV so Obama needs 20 more....including all Kerry's states which is a given...
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 12:04 AM by Flabbergasted
Here is a short list of states Obama could win or likely will win which Kerry did not....

Indiana 11
Virginia 13
Florida 27
Georgia 15
Ohio 20
North Carolina 15
Missouri 11
Iowa 7
North Dakota 3
Nevada 5
New Mexico 5
Colorado 9

I think there is a 95% likelihood he will pick up those 20 from 1 or more of these states.

5. I'm with you...cautiously optimistic...
I think he will win, but...

Any number of things could derail him, things we don't anticipate, or have any control over...

But I do think he'll win.

6. Cautiously Optimistic
As with this World Series victory, I won't believe it until it's official.

Based on CNN's current electoral map and being ultra-conservative (and IMHO OVERLY generous to McCain)- giving all 87 "toss-up" states to McCain, McCain STILL loses.

Edit: GEEZ!!!! Even IF McCain wins PA he STILL loses!
