Heard some of the Ted Stevens senate debate on CSPAN radio...

The most fucked up debate performance since ever. http://community.adn.com/adn/node/133763

Stevens seems to be 110% senile. He got into a thing about how the problem with healthcare is the expense of care for old people who are going to die anyway. No word if the 84 year old Stevens will be the charter member of the euthanasia-based Stevens healthcare reform initiative.

When asked what in his career he wish he had done differently he said, "I trust people too much, which is the cause of my current situation... and I am innocent of all charges." Then (in the same answer) he went into a fugue, trying to rationalize his crookedness is vague terms of not getting to see his family enough because of the long commute from Washington.

It was much like the Biden/Palin debate. Mark Begich (D) sort of ignored Stevens' bizarre answers.

2. Stockdale doesn't deserve that comparison. He was a great American.
Stevens is a festering boil on the ass of humanity.

3. We watched the whole thing last night.
It was pretty incredible. He stated at least three times that he hadn't been convicted. The debates can be watched here http://community.adn.com/adn/node/133763 if you're just bored and want to kill some time.

How very compassionate. Is he going to be the first to volunteer for the euthanasia programme for those past their three-score-years-and-ten?
