My Silver Lining: Obama's 'worst' win would be 270-268
Through all my nervousness and roller-coaster obsessing with the polls, maps, calendar-watching, and analysis... I have toyed with an electoral map and noted that Obama can win WITHOUT the 'Big 3' of PA, OH, and FL.

He just has to win VA, and 21 other states where he is reliably ahead (plus DC).

CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, NM, NV, MN, MI, IL, WI, IA, NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME, MD, DE, DC, and VA. (PLEASE, please, PLEASE, WIN VA!)

That's not the scenario we want (it relies on CO and NV heavily), but it gives us a buffer for the Big 3. McCrank CANNOT win without OH, PA, or FL (or it is highly unlikely without concurrent upsets in states he is now solidly lagging). But Obama CAN.

And YES WE CAN.

:D

Since PA looks promising, and VA is staying steady... hold your breath and get out the vote!!! :patriot:

1. McCain can win without PA
and he needs to because I highly doubt McCain will take PA. All he needs to do is hold the Bush states even minus Iowa, which there's no way McCain's going to win. I'm not willing to say VA is reliable although it looks fairy good. CO and NV are terribly unreliable.

2. How?

Lets say he wins all the toss-ups plus Virginia. That gives him 260.

He would still need to flip two of the following: Iowa, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado. Iowa and Colorado are locked in blue IMO. So he would need Nevada and New Mexico. In my view, he needs Pennsylvania...how he gets it though I'm not sure.
