It would be nice if "he's trying to generate fear for a political purpose" were all one needed to prove that McCain were a bad person, but sadly, it's a) completely the norm in politics, and b) not in itself immoral (doing so dishonestly is, but it's the dishonesty rather than the negativity that's bad).
