Charlie Cook today: "John McCain probably can't win without divine intervention"

THE COOK REPORT
Obama Heads For The Goal Line
An Obama White House could be more careful and disciplined than past Democratic administrations.
by Charlie Cook

Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008

It has been 38 years since the Grateful Dead recorded "Truckin'," the song whose lyrics capture this campaign so well: "What a long, strange trip it's been." We haven't had a presidential election in 40 years with as many unexpected twists and turns and weird dynamics.

At this point, John McCain probably can't win without divine intervention. . .

Interesting. Obama's team has been masterful. Their transition plans, I have heard, are magnificent.

These guys are good.

1. McCain probably can't win without the republicans conducting pervasive voter suppression, and
election fraud like messing with the computer servers as was done in Ohio in 2004.

3. You are correct. But I don't think so this time, for a number of reasons.
First of all, they are not invested in McCain and Palin. They aren't Rove-Cheney material, much as they would like to be.

Plus, Obama and his team are well aware of the Republicans' cheating ways. They will be on top of this one.

Ohio now has a Dem Secretary of State. That will make that a tough one for them to take.

This election is not close. There are limits to even their schemes.

Look for Romney to seek out an alliance with Jeb Bush as they seek to marginalize Palin and reclaim the party for the Bush family and the neocons, from the social nuts (who they consider "useful idiots").

Obama wins on Tuesday. So long as he stays safe.
