Electoral Scoreboard Test Underway

Electoral Scoreboard Test Underway

by ct

Sat Nov 01, 2008 at 10:54:12 AM PDT

The Electoral Scoreboard test is now underway! If you'd like to see the results as they stream in, http://img-orig.dailykos.com/map/electionMapBetaLive.swf">take a look for yourself. If you find any bugs, please report them in this thread. Note that wildly unlikely results, like McCain winning California, are not bugs. Also, there is some weirdness with the counting of EVs - we are aware of this, but the problem seems to lie on the AP's end, not ours.

1. Oh no! This is it.
Thanks. I've been wanting a live electoral map. But you do know what this means. It's now election night. Argh! :)

3. How can Obama already have electoral votes?
In the presidential electoral vote tally, I see the Dems have 105 at noon today. Did Obama get enough votes to already win some states?

I'm missing something. Brain cells, probably.

4. You are not missing brain cells, it seems like just a TEST to me.
Perhaps there are votes in some states that have already been tallied, absentees, early voters, likely less that 30% of potential vote count in those states. Older voters tend to use absentee, if not at home, or not able to go to polls on Tues. Perhaps these are just "hypothetical" votes, since 0% of precincts should be reporting final results at this time.

5. Keyword- test.
Aha. Test as in, perhaps, not a real realtime tally. I assumed it was actually representing something real.

I think I'll just step away from the internets for a bit. I wonder if Ted Stevens internet provider actually uses those tubes you see in stores. Maybe he's not nuts after all. :)
