Will Chris Matthews (Tweety) get to be the one honored with
the announcement that YES, Senator Barack Obama has been elected the 44th President of the United States? I mean, when they are absolutely allowed to announce, will Chrissy be frothing, will it be Keith?? Will they fight over it? I'm starting to get spacey now but these nuggets do bite my ankles at times...

defense contracts are. Just look at which party most of the NBC big wigs donate their money to.

42. There are still local television networks in larger market areas, and there is still always PBS ....
trust me, I am not knock on MSNBC for putting on KO and Rachel, but that's all they've done. Matthews is a Reagan Democrat, Joe Scar was a Republican Congressman, they continually have Pat Buchanan on as a panelist, Chuck Todd is a closet Republican (one of the worst kept secrets on TV) and Gregory is more of a moderate - but the network as a whole is far from being liberal or progressive.

12. I hope it is Chris. I am a big Chris Matthews fan. I know everyone here hates him
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 01:26 PM by musicblind
and I don't agree with a lot of what he says. Heck, I had to stop watching him when he was bashing Hillary so much. BUT, over all, I have been a Hardball fan for a good while and even have two of his books.

While it would be great to see Keith, or even Rachel make the call... deep down I would mark out if it was Chris :)

You can book mark this thread... and come election night if I am wrong and the announcement isn't "Barack Obama is the next president of the United States."... well, lets just say that those words WILL be spoken. Period.

14. I don't hate Chris at all.
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 01:44 PM by Janice325
:hi:
I didn't used to like him at all because I thought he was always interrupting his guests, and his laugh unnerved me, but lately, I'm starting to think he's actually okay. I loved the Bachmann "interview."

I'd prefer Keith or Rachel made the announcement, however, I would certainly be fine with Chris. Or Shuster...just not Joe, Mika, and especially not David Gregory. :puke:

21. I'll agree with all of what you just said. As long as it isn't Joe, Mika or David Gregory!
Shuster would be an interesting choice and would say something positive about the future of that network. I would love to see the poetic justice of Shuster someday taking over Morning Joe... given how much Scarborough and Shuster hate each other.

27. No. NBC's future is with Brian Williams
Tom will be there and it will be one big gathering, but the anchor will be Brian Williams on NBC and David Gregory on MSNBC. Remember, Matthews and Keith being pulled from anchoring duties frees them to be as opinionated as they want.

What would REALLY be even more awesome if Keith made the announcement in his best O'Liely impersonation.

But then again, I just realized that wouldn't be appropriate until after the announcement had already been officially made. Then, Keith could go on and do his best O'Liely impersonation.

29. It'll be either Brokaw or Williams.
They'll let one of the "hard news" guys make the call... Brokaw, I imagine. But they'll cut over to Tweety's reaction very quickly.

I'm kinda looking forward to it... say what you will about Chris, but he does seem to sum up these kinds of moments better than anyone else.
