I have several relatives that were/are in the US illegally.
I suspect that this is a common occurrence for anyone with foreign connections.

1. But you're not black. You don't have to answer for everything they do.

2. Plays well with the puke base but a non issue to everyone else
I am starting to believe McCain is under the impression that puke supporters are a majority and he can win by just his base voters and has given up on winning any other voter to his side.

3. Don't worry. I have several relatives who stole narcotics. I used my political influence...
...to keep them out of prison.

These things happen to the best of us.

7. .
It was a bit of a joke. This is what John McCain did for Cindy McCain.

John McCain turned a blind eye to what Cindy was doing and when it was discovered, he used his influence to sweep it under the rug. Cindy committed crimes that would have landed 99% of Americans in prison. If only we could all be so lucky. :eyes:

8. Hell I can't even control my own son. No one can ever be made responsible for anyone but him/hersel
The exception here would be if he knowingly helped his aunt do something illegal but there seems to be no indication of that.

9. my mom was war bride born in Norway
Few people know that a few years ago in all the Republican anti-immigration glory, they changed the Medical Assistance rules. They demanded everyone prove citizenship. Well, this caused a SEVERE problem across the country as many old, rural folks never had birth certificates, being born at home or on the farm etc. They were threatened with getting kicked out of nursing homes. So they changed the rules back, to if you were here long enough to qualify for Medicare, then you did not have to prove citizenship. So elderly people who have worked and paid taxes for 60-70 years in the US were being denied benifits because of lack of documentation. Republican ideology has real effects on real people.
