2. It's north of Dallas I believe.
I'm not sure how it trends... the Dallas newspapers endorsed McCain.

3. West of Dallas...Fort Worth is in Tarrant County
Back in the 80s we had Speaker of the House Jim Wright. I haven't lived there since 1989, so don't know about the demographics today (but my heavily republican parents and other relatives still live there).

10. Tarrant County is where Fort Worth and surrounding cities are and yes
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 02:19 PM by Blue_Roses
it is mostly blue except for one "hiccup" called Southlake, which is very upscale and votes mainly repub.

But there are a few Obama signs there, in fact, one of my Obama meetup's was in Southlake, so there is hope:D

Have fun with your election training!

My #1 piece of advice to judges and clerks. For heaven's sake, break out your poll books into at least three, maybe four parts! :bounce: It's always the sign-in that kills ya!

16. Interesting
Why golly, I thought Texas was supposed to be a "safe" state for old man grumpy? Why does he need to come to big D? Does he need to pick the pockets of the good old boys again?

19. A little Pick Pocketing, but hopefully it will be money WASTED ;=D
My Hubby saw the story so not exactly sure if he's coming for a fundraiser or a rally.

I am soooooo HOPEFUL that TEXAS TURNS BLUE. I'm so tired of Texas getting dumped on because of Mad king Boy George.

I was also hoping Obama would have swung through the State or a few Surrogates but we might get that opportunity in the future if we can make Texas a BATTLEGROUND STATE.:kick:

22. Are you serious? He is coming to Dallas?? WTF? He is pulling an election eve chimp trick
Election Eve 2004 chimpass held a faux rally in the heart of Mcmansion land. An indoor "rally" that was a "ticket only" on the SMU campus..surrounded by all of his zillionaire friends and local repukes, it was televised nationwide..his appearance was at MIDNIGHT so he could sneak into town (hoping to avoid scenes of protestors, no doubt).

It created the illusion for viewers around the country that Dallas/Texas was chimpass country. Too bad Dallas County went 49% Kerry the next night. So imagine what Obama's win results will be like in Dallas County Tuesday night.

Sick of repukes using Dallas and Texas as a prop and getting away with it.

From what I have read, most of them are even leaving the word "Republican" OUT of their campaign commericals.

14. I wish the TX SOS site would update early vote totals
to include yesterday.

Hell, I wish it would cover the whole state, instead of only the top 15 counties. Just the same, those 15 counties more than exceeded 3 million voters:

17. Yippee, We had a pretty good Turn Out in Texas
Thanks for the link, blogslut. I have it bookmarked now.:hi:

I'm surprised that Tarrant County came in third, ahead of Brexar ( San Antonio ) and Travis ( Austin ) for those that don't know our county seats.

Tarrant County has been working Really REALLY HARD to GOTV, and apparently it has Paid off.:kick:

and my particular precinct in tarrant county has voted 40% early.
We have just over 2500 registered voters, so we will probably be very busy on Tuesday.

but 40% is great...and some precincts have had more than that.

really an exciting turnout for a typically red county.

Could we be turning blue? We shall see!!!

GOBAMA!
