anybody here get their yard signs stolen?

some POS stole my obama yard sign thursday night here in new jersey. woke up the next morning to find 1 metal rod sticking out of my lawn. i was lucky enough to get a new 1 after canvassing today. i will definitely be keeping mine indoors at night from now on.

1. Yes. I've had two signs stolen and one trampled (the metal rod bent all to hell)

Two incidents (the trampled sign, then the stolen sign) occurred during primary season and the last one (stolen sign) happened just last week. I put up another sign, though, and so far it's still there.

It is only a small bump in the road that is about to get a major repaving!

I have not had a sign stolen here in NE OHio....I have a feeling the pukes are all pretty down this cycle around here, I sport signs in my car that poke them and I have yet to get one middle finger all fall!! My main one is "END EIGHT YEARS OF DISGRACE!" Anyway, in 2004 when bu$h stole it, I ran my flags upside down until a freeper stole the one on my porch, along with all of my Kerry signs....really pissed me off, so I called the cops. They took a report and I made it into the "police beat" of the local paper.

SO.....welcome and buckle up, it is going to be a fun ride for the next few days...you are where you belong, Democratic Underground!!

the level of hate i've been experiencing in jersey has been absolutely frustrating. while canvassing i've seen far more mccain than obama signs. i really thought new jersey was better than this. i just recently had to stop going to a new church i started attending when some members noticed i had an obama bumper sticker on my car. i was given a warm welcome early on, but that changed quick. these next couple of days are gonna be the longest days ever!

17. not sure what you are looking for in a church....

but I would suggest checking out the local United Church of Christ...you know, we are the guys with the commercials the main stream media wouldn't air a few years back because they were too "controversial", and the denomination that Barack Obama calls home; well until the Rev. Wright stuff came down. WE are the most liberal main stream denomination and even ordain openly gay folks. So, go to the website and click on "find a church"...you may be pleasantly surprised, but I would visit two or three or even more before making a decision. My pastor has to remain non-partisan, but he is a true dem. Here is the Link:

Ours was stolen last night after being up for about a month. I went to my local campaign office today to pick up 2 more and sign up for some last minute canvassing.

Think I've broken a record this time, though. I put a new one on last Monday, and it is STILL there!

A lady that in a canvassing group I was part of with last week said that after their's got stolen, her husband sent out an email to all their neighbors. Put in the email: "I know that EVERYone wants an Obama yard sign and they are hard to come by, but you don't need to steal ours, here is the link where YOU can get your OWN". Of course, they live in a red repuke neighborhood so he was fucking with them but it was still funny.
She also said that their Republican neighbor felt so bad for them because of the (repeated) sign stealing, that HE went out and put an Obama sign in HIS yard just to show them some support. But them his Obama/Biden sign got stolen, also. They don't know who the neighbor is voting for, but they thought it was pretty cool of him to do what he did.

15. Ours got torn up and stomped on last night

so did 5 others in our neighborhood.

It only took my wife until noon today to pick up more signs and hand them out to everyone whose signs were destroyed. :D

16. Mine was stolen Wednesday night

We made a theft proof sign - we painted the logo on a drop cloth and hung it on the house.

They'd have to get a ladder to steal this one.

Oh, and we have it lit for nightime viewing. I hope whoever took the other one sees this one. I think they'll like it.

24. We've had 9 stolen in the neighborhood & 6 destroyed.

My husband posted upthread about the 6 I was able to replace by noon today, thanks to a vindictive little trick or shithead kid/adult/alloftheabove. However, there have been 9 other candidate signs stolen out of the neighborhood or destroyed in the past few weeks.

But I have to love our supporters, some have put the cheap rally signs in their yard on little stakes, or printed Obama pictures and logos to tape in their windows. So I got to play Obama Claus and drop signs off to them in the past couple weeks :D We've given out 35 Obama signs so far, plus other candidate signs.
