OK, a few weeks back I decided that I would take a snapshot of RCP at the same time & day of the week until election day. I took a screenshot every Saturday once all of the polls were in for the day (around 8PM). I wanted to be able to track any possible "tightening" so I could extrapolate out to election day.

Here are the snapshots I took:

RCP average 10-11-08 (7.6%)

RCP average 10-18-08 (6.5%)

RCP average 10-25-08 (8.0%)

RCP average 11-1-08 (6.8%)


And here's a primitive little plot of the averages from each Saturday for the past 4 weeks with a linear regression.



I think we're going to be OK by election day barring some bizzare game-changing event.

(Note Zogby was 4%, 4%, 9% & now 5% - besides the one spike, he's consistently been on the low side.)
