If we win, we should thank this woman:

I can't think of a single journalist who had a bigger impact on this race than Katie Couric.

Of course, Obama, Plouffe and Axelrod deserve the most credit, but Katie deserves a lot of credit for derailing the Palin-love-a-thon that the media engaged in for weeks.

Special Mention:

She deserves a lot of credit for starting the blowback regarding McCain's dirty and lying campaign. John McCain's appearance on the view and her questions to John McCain about his campaign's lies started the media narrative that McCain was running a dishonorable campaign.

1. Amazing where reality is realized at times... never put people down.
Don't cut them out, or tell them they aren't worth it. Show a little patience because at the end of the day these are people.

25. Fey's "I can see Russia from my house" was to Palin,
what Biden's "A noun, a verb & 9-11," was to Giuliani.

Wasn't trying to be snarky or critical.

Kills me she is not around for this. Not seeing her son become the first african american president?

Makes me wish and hope that there really is something to this heaven and looking down business.

I went to see Maya Soetoro-Ng (Obama's sister) speak. And all I could think of was that they must have had a phenomenal mother and grandmother.

21. That counts as brilliant stuff these days.
She was a better interviewer than Gregory, Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper, Brian Williams, because she asked follow-up questions.

Yeah, not a very high standard, but, not very many "journalists" meet such low standards nowadays.

14. Why don't we thank them all.
Each one exposed the lies and the corruption of the McCain/Palin campaign in their own little way. They all proved to be heroes in a world in which the surreal is taken to be the truth.

Not to mention Hillary for tempering Barack, and helping him hone his message (unintentionally I assume), so well in the primaries. These ladies are just entertainers.

30. anyone who has watched Katie Couric over the years knows it's pretty easy to get her to laugh
I've watched the Couric/Palin interviews a million times and each time I laugh. It must have taken every ounce of strength for Katie to hold it back. There was one moment when I thought Katie was going to lose it for sure. If you look at Katie's face when she asked Palin what she read to stay informed you can see a little bit of a smile starting to show on Katie's face
