funny how republicans are coming out of the woodwork
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 03:02 AM by iamthebandfanman
wanting to play nice and be friends in the spirit of co-operation
now that it looks like they are going to lose their grip over the government...
now i totally agree with the sentiment that obama should govern from the middle(because frankly itll just further prove we believe in openness of various viewpoints and therefor are fair) and lord knows
nobody on DU should hate republicans in general, thats just wrong and goes against everything we as americans should believe in (the right to believe whatever you want)...
but that doesnt mean that on november 5th, when obama wins, we just forget the last 8 years and the people responsible for it.
i personally could care less they have an R by their names, id feel the same way about them regardless of what party they represented.
this administration must be held accountable by the american people.
as much as id like to just hold hands and us all be friends, thousands of our young people died in a war that was unnecessary. you cant take that back.

1. I'll be more impressed if some of their better intentioned actors...
Such as Collins (who we really should have gone after harder) and Snowe go Jeffords on them and declare as Independents.

2. For some, losing power is scary. They're going to understand what it's like to be liberals, whove
been for the past 30 year, demonized, slandered, mocked, ridiculed. Some of them are beginning to realize that they've treated us like dirt, and now we're the ones who are going to be in power.

It's a scary thought for them. But, don't worry, we're not a vengeful people.

3. I at least respect the ones who are staying and who voted as moderates
I think their leadership like Trent Lott, Tom Delay, John Boner, Mitch McConnell and the rest should be horse whipped.

I think guys like the representative from Virginia who is resigning so he doesn't have to spend forever in minority are cowards and deserve my disdain.

If we reward moderates for their moderate behavior.....it will mean more are likely to make it through their primaries as people who can get things done in Washington for their people.

I'm hopeful. But no........NO ONE HERE EVER FORGETS THE RAPE OF OUR COUNTRY AND WHO CAUSED IT!

4. They started talking about nicer behavior in Congress in 2006, too. Transparent, much?
