Sunday Doonesbury. Buxh shows some wear and tear
When Trudeau started drawing GWB, he used an empty Stetson with an asterisk as a symbol for obvious reasons. As time went on he changed the character to an empty Roman helmet to represent imperialism, and kept the asterisk from which he speaks.

As the years wore on the helmet became more and more battered as Buxh's legacy shared the same tarnish. The helmet became dented and the bristles on top began to fall out.

It seems it's getting quite close to the end of the term, as the character (and the man) can't fall much further than this:
