Here we go. Ohio gives McCain an advantage. Nationally, looking even better for Obama this week.

1. I'm just lousy at math I guess
Obama wins every state Gore and Kerry did and picks up a couple of red ones. If McCain wins Ohio, he has the advantage. WTF?

17. In 2000, Gore needed one state ... any state ... to get over 270.
Bush NEEDED Florida ... there was no other way he could win.

Gore was at 267 or 268 ... any state, with its minimum 3 electoral votes, would have propelled him to the needed 270.

Bush was at a point where only an electoral vote rich state could get him to 270 ... exactly ... and that's why they were so desperate to steal Florida ... no other state would have given Bush what he needed.

Had the votes been realistically counted in Florida, Gore would have sprinted over the finish line with room to spare. Bush crossed the finish line in a photo finish with the photo analysts doctoring the photos.

2. The Columbus Dispatch headline today is "Obama Keeps His Lead In Ohio".
The final Dispatch poll (through 10/31) has O 52, M 46.

6. Proof that Brokaw is either a moran or a hack.
He goes back and grabs ahold of Rasmussen's poll - 1 of 2 OH polls over the past month that has McCrypt in the lead.

9. It Might Be A Mason-Dixon Poll We Haven't Seen Yet
Unless you have already seen MTP and know for sure...

I can't believe I am caught up in this minutiae (again) with everything I have going on, and promised myself not to...

I guess political loyalty and my faith are the only constants in my life...

MTP is live at 8am in certain markets. Isn't NBC involved with Mason-Dixon? Perhaps they have a new OH poll?

7. We need to start charging posters for using too many d's.
FYI it should be...

Ohio gives McCain an advantage.

That is an not and.

You aren't the only one here or other places that use and instead of an.

Personally, I think it should be "Ohio gives McCain a noogie."

10. Thompson: Sarah hasn't made any serious missteps."
Right. And Brokaw sat there with a perfectly straight face.

"Helllooo-oooo! Mr. Sarkozy???"

16. Brokaw was absolutely totally biased
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 09:14 AM by karynnj
He fed Thompson soft balls, for the most part, and started with a right wing op-ed. The only tough question was a mild push back on Thompson' s first comment that Palin was attacked unfairly by the media - by asking which questions by Gibson or Couric were unfair? Thompson counted by saying Palin had faced an unprecedented media attack - which he did not support.

Every question to Kerry was presented in an unfriendly to Obama manner. Kerry responded well and did not appear defensive in spite of 3 personal questions - including starting the appearance by speaking of a confident comment he had made to Brokaw this time in 2004 - as if the candidate would not express confidence. This actually may have helped Obama because many negatives that McCain is throwing at Obama were said and successfully countered. The McCain negatives were not answered by Thompson as they were not even asked - and Kerry brought them up in his answers.

The best message Kerry got out was that McCain failed the 2 most important Presidential moments.
- He picked Palin who is unqalified.
- He was erratic in the financial crisis, while Obama was calm and Obama's 4 principles were incorporated into the Congressional bill.

Best one lien - McCain got Cheney's endorsement and he earned it by voting with Bush 90% of the time.

18. no way?!?!!!!!
hasn't had any serious missteps?

OMG. They are delusional.

Everything she has done has been a misstep...except for maybe when she first came on the national stage and delivered partisan, GOP ugliness with the finesse of a well-heeled celebrity. Still, one could reasonably argue that celebrity does not a VP make. And of course, this was before she had opened her mouth of her own accord.

LOL. We all know what happened then.

I can see Russia from my house! In what respect, Charlie? I read them all, whatever is put in front of me...I'll get back with ya! Winky wink. I may not answer the questions. Thanks for Nailin Palin, Pres Sarkozy. I, too, am a socialist and think we'd be better off if we could be more like you freedom fries folks! ethics violator, guilty as charged. tax evader. wardrobe-gate. nanny-gate. chef-gate. hair and makeup gate. housegate. Oh, it's too early for this. there are too many to list.

15. 1st panel question: "HE'S BLACK! HE'S BLACK! HE'S BLACK!"
Did I mention, HE'S BLACK!

Thanks, Tom, for that brand new perspective on this race. Let's make sure we keep the dialogue shallow and simple.

But will they mention the prank Sarkozy Palin phone call? No way in hell.
