What they base the momentum theme i don't know...they offer no evidence at all.

5. comparing new Mason-Dixon numbers to different polls instead of to itself

They're taking closer Mason-Dixon numbers and trying to compare it to other polls, when Mason-Dixon against itself last week has actually increased Obama's margin in these states. A middle school math student could've told you the fallacy of this approach, but MSNBC seemingly doesn't get it.
