MSNBC needs to cut it out with this "polls are tightening in key states" fallacy
First Joe, now Alex touting M-D new numbers (which always showed a tighter race in the swing states) as evidence that the race is tightening when they are comparing it against other polls instead of COMPARING IT TO THE M-D NUMBERS FROM LAST WEEK. If they did the latter, they'd see that Obama actually INCREASED his margin from the last M-D sample to this one. Alex was really trying to get her interviewee to claim some sort of McCain "momentum" which he refused to do, but she kept trying to pry it out of him. Weird.

2. do they do this at the end of every election?
This is the first time I have ever watched election coverage so I have no idea. Partly I think it's good they talk this way so people get concerned instead of becoming complacent. I am also worried about them harping on this Bradley shit all the time. I just wonder if people will change their mind because they are so ignorant.

7. There is evidence of a reverse Bradley effect this year....
Saw some photos out of (bright red) Oklahoma yesterday of folks standing in a two-hour line to vote early and they were not McCain voters! Republicans are turning blue because McCain has given them nothing to vote for. Welcome to DU! :hi:

4. It's all about ratings. They need viewers on Tuesday.
It's funny the poll #s they use are Mason-Dixon; no mention of the others. They cannot report the truth after all the money they've spent on "election plaza". LOL.
