The First:

Group robocalling on Obama's aunt

The independent conservative group Americans in Contact has been placing recorded calls to swing state voters informing them that Barack Obama's aunt is an illegal alien.

A Politico reader in Cincinnati e-mailed this morning that he got a robocall "asking if I knew Barack's aunt was an illegal alien, etc."

And an Ambinder reader in Virginia reported a similar call.

A third source reported two calls coming from Americans in Contact, a group that had been primarily engaged in building a list of Republican voters.

And The Second:

Hillary calling

The latest McCain robocall features ... Hillary Clinton.

The RNC sends over the script:

FEMALE VOICE: I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC. Listen to what Hillary Clinton had to say about John McCain and Barack Obama:

HILLARY CLINTON: In the White House, there is no time for speeches and on-the-job training. Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, and Senator Obama will bring a speech that he gave in 2002. I think that is a significant difference.

FEMALE VOICE: This call was paid for by the Republican National Committee at 866-558-5591, and authorized by McCain/Palin 2008.

Both of these are just so fundamentally vial, but par for the course for Republicans.

call early this morning in Virginia. I got a nasty one from Laura Ingraham late last week.

2. How bad do you think it could get from these in that area?

4. Pretty bad.

I am glad I will not be home to answer the phone tomorrow. The Republican Party mailers are disgusting too. One has an unflattering picture of Obama with the words "Crime and Punishment" on the front. Another has Obama and Ayers, and another Obama and Rezko. They all have very dark backgrounds and horrible quotes.

6. I doubt this is enough, at this point, to sway the election, but could it... hurt us in that area?

I know I'm worrying too damn much, but at this point I feel like I'm walking on egg shells.

3. About the Hillary call - is that legal? Can someone else use her

actual voice for ads without her permission?
