My pics from the Springfield, MO rally (dial up beware, LOTS of pics)
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 01:53 PM by dadsblacksheep
We got there at 1 (doors opened at 6, Barack at 9). For those of you who've never waited in line at a rally, its pretty festive and we made lots of new friends, like this little guy, who was doing an Obama chant and dance. He was on TV and in the paper today. His shirt says "Barack Obama is my hero"

These folks were our version of Joe The Plumber

This kiddo's shirt touched me. He was SO excited. His shirt said "Redheads for Obama"

Look! A Rednecks wife! She was the sweetest thing ever

And I got my photo taken with the Rednecks! Oh my word these guys are funny. I love them. If you look closely, you can see Bill Clinton's signature in the bottom corner of the banner. EVERYONE wanted their photo taken with these guys

Finally, after a zillion hours, we finally got inside, with a few of our friends, lol

The next First Family

one more, sorry

2. These are some terrific photos!
As I scrolled down, they all filled my screen so I got a complete look at them at a glance, too.

What a crowd! Looks like you had a really good time. :D

6. Around 40,000. What you can't see is a the packed east side of the stadium.

12. Wow!!
That's awesome. I am somewhat familiar with the area and find that to be incredibly inspiring! I was at an Obama rally in Milwaukee on Labor Day and know exactly what you mean by the "vibe" of the crowd. It was very cool and so amazing. Like nothing I've EVER experienced.

15. You're right, it is Bill's! I saw the "B" at the beginning and assumed it was Barack.

19. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
I was so excited last night thinking about you guys in Springfield.

I know what you mean about those lines. I made a ton of new friends in line for our caucus here in Kansas in February. We stood in freezing rain together for 4 hours. And we email each other all the time, especially lately. LOL

Thanks for the pictures. They really are wonderful.

:hi: :patriot:

21. All we were missing was you! I stood in the tshirt line with a dem teacher from KS
She said she was a rare breed and I said "I know one! I know one!" You, of course :-)

One of the cool things one of the Obama organizer guy did at the beginning of the rally was to yell "Who's from Arkansas? Oklahoma? Kansas?" So they all got their props too, which was awesome.

It was just a really, really great night.

22. looks like the Springfield I spent time in as a kid
I admit I'm from a redneck backwoods upbringing in Missouri and Kansas. I have always been a "Show Me" kind of guy with a more liberal bias. Now I am a longtime resident of Oregon (Willamette Valley stretching from Eugene to Portland) and proud of Missorians overcoming racism to support the candidate to help us out of this ravine.

23. Hey you have pic's of me...
Tried to post pics of the south stadium where you were...I was in VIP behind Obama. Besides meeting Michelle, the best moment of the night was when the girls came out with Barack..."just go, enjoy the moment, this is about you" It was fabulous listening to him talking to the girls when coming on to the catwalk taking stage...unforgettable...KC was great...but this, priceless.
