Some fucker brought up ACORN last night @ dinner and I went off.
I left my friends birthday party in a huff.

I hate it when RW disguised as a Libertarian brings up this shit as if it makes a goddamed difference except in their tiny minds....as if mickey mouse was actually gonna show up and vote.

After waiting 6 hrs in ATL to vote I refuse to listen to any RW bullshit. I think I've earned my right to tell republicans to kiss my BLACK ASS.

I don't know if I'll ever get over the anger.

I had more than a hundred on ignore. Some still are (some of the ones who weren't banned). Mostly I've been able to move on, though there are some invaders from other blogs here causing trouble today.

4. I really don't know why republicans are incapable of understanding such a simple thing;
Acorn is required by law to hand in every single registration form period.

If Acorn had thrown out ANY of the registration forms, they would have broken the law.

It just ain't rocket surgery, rightwinguts!

I cannot effing believe the most simple things they refuse to believe. I don't get it. And I don't get how often a fact just goes in one ear and out the other. Like it won't even register.

11. LOL
"rocket surgery" = rocket science/brain surgery.

You're right. This is not that damn hard to understand. I wish more of the reporters/anchors would mention that point. They had to turn in the bad forms and usually they were the ones that flagged the bad forms in the first place.

17. and some of those forms could have been from repub. pranksters,
or apolitical pranksters.

The republicans are making the false accusation that ACORN was responsible for these applications being filled out improperly. There is no evidence of this; it's a ludicrous accusation. Why would ACORN want someone to use a name of Mickey Mouse?

I'm sure there are improper registration forms handed in by GOP GOTV efforts as well.

The GOP thinks its so clever making these unfounded accusations.

5. You know, if you just explain it to them calmly
like I have for months, they usually shut up because they have nothing to back it up with. If you go postal on them, they have an excuse to say "What an ass". I say "So, Mickey Mouse is gonna show up to vote?" That's all it takes.

7. acorn did nothing illegal.
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 01:29 PM by iamthebandfanman
thats all that needs to be said.

infact, if they hadnt turned in those fake registrations... THEN they would been commiting a crime. they arent allowed to toss voter registrations. only officials in the government can make that call. all acorn could do is mark them as suspicious.

should acorn take some reponsibility and crack down on the people they pay to register people? of course...
but acorn has done nothing illegal.

its not even voter/election fraud. its registration fraud. which has been shown time and again to not effect actual election day events

14. xultar!
as I stood in line waiting to vote (only 1.5 hours in Indy, yesterday) I noticed some very grumpy looking sheriff deputies (the voting was at the city county building). One got into a conversation with a candidate for the state house. He (the deputy) groussed that this was a waste of time and taxpayers money. Several thousand folks voting each day at the downtown early vote center - and this dude thinks it is a waste of time and money. As if protecting folks' right to vote in a democracy is a "waste of time".

You could tell the republicans in line - angry, impatient, petulant, standing defensively. Funny, they were outnumbered by the folks who were chatting away as if this were a social event - and carrying the Obama lit and other dem lit being handed to folks in line.

:hi:

15. lol good for you! - yesterday, after knocking on 96 doors in 4 hours,
my legs were tired from all the apartment stairs and I needed something to drink and stopped by the closest 7-11 before making the 2 mile trip up to early voting to drop off an absentee ballot I had just picked up. To make the trip worth it I grabbed some Obama Biden bumper stickers and headed inside. As I passed by the register I asked the clerk if he wanted any. He said no he was voting for McCain. I thought to my self "have fun waiting in the 3 hour lines at early voting this afternoon, I doubt you are motivated enough..." Upon my return to pay for my beverage I said in my most diplomatic voice to the same guy "We have nothing to worry about, either one will defend America". He replied, yes probably so but I am worried because Israel said they will drop the US as an ally if Obama wins." I pointed to the sticker on my shirt and asked him if he knows what it said and of course he said "no". I said "It's Hebrew, it says Obama '08!". He took a step back and said "whatever". Walking out of the store my legs were ready again for more canvassing!

19. I loved what Maxine Waters said to a rethug when he brought up
ACORN registering phony voters on Bill Maher's show and he asked her what they were about. She said he should tell them what they were about since he brought it up. He admitted not knowing much about them. So she told him them he had no business talking about them if he knew nothing about them. I'm paraphrasing now from memory. After some awkward silence she said that they were an organization that were doing a wonderful job in getting poor people and minorities registered to vote.
