Did You Hear About the Inauguration? |
|
Presidents used to take office March 4th, but during the previous Depression, Roosevelt got it moved up to Jan 20th in 1933 by amending the Constitution, reducing the lame duck period.
On NPR Sunday morning, Daniel Shore proposed moving Inauguration Day up. To November 10th!

2. Bad idea. In a close election you need time to do a recount. |

It's 20 less days for the lame duck to quack things up.
