McCain Stump Speech: no 700B Wall Street Bailout from him.
What a liar. What an astounding brazen liar he has become. McCain publicly signed off on the bailout, back when his stunt of the week was "I'm in charge here of this economic disaster thing", in an Alex Haig moment David Letterman quickly made him wish never happened. McCain repeatedly endorsed it. Now he is pretending that it is Obama's bailout and that his administration will somehow cancel it. Liar.

But the funny thing here is that had McCain had the courage to actually challenge the bailout, to adopt a truly populist anti-Wall Street anti-establishment position, he might just have turned things around, pulled the rug out from under the Obama campaign, and be cruising to victory right now. Instead he quickly moved on from his failed I'm in Charge Here stunt to his false-populist Sam the Scab stunt, and has been cruising to a bruising ever since.

Liar.

Oh, by the way, McCain, even if the election gets stolen again and he is somehow installed in the White House, can't cancel the bailout. Liar.

1. I think you are right Warren...
If McCain had been a true "maverick" and had challenged the bailout, I think he might be more in the race at this time.

2. I don't know about that one
The fundies would love it, but the big business wing of the republican would disown McCain

4. He would have captured the popular anger of the moment.
It would have changed the dynamic of the race.

3. If McCain was a true maverick, his campaign wouldn't be run by lobbyists.
