"Maybe Obama won't be that bad. We'll bounce back; we bounced back after Clinton"
That's what someone said to me the other day. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry.

I didn't say anything because I like this person, but fuck.

6. Haven't they noticed
Haven't they noticed that if things go the way everybody thinks they will the Democrats will not only control the Presidency, but have a large lead in the House and at least close to a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. With the independents and a couple of moderate Republicans they will be able to pass whatever legislation they want and appoint whoever they want to the federal courts including the Supreme Court. If the young people and minorities vote the way expected and see the kind of success they can generate by doing to so the Democrats could have a winning coalition for a long time. On the other hand the Republicans thought they were going to be in power for the foreseeable future and look what's happened to them. The Democrats will only stay in power if they accomplish things that will help all Americans. If they resort to infighting, not unknown in Democratic circles, then they could lose it just as fast as they gained.

7. i hate to tell 'em but, obama will govern as a centrist
so since we wont be alienating an entire half of the country like the last 8 years...
id imagine we'll be able to hold on to the presidency for a good while... granted nothing horrible goes wrong.

8. The stock market bounced back down, the deficit bounced back up.
Just in economic terms.
