Republicans to Try Burning Obama on Coal
November 02, 2008 3:23 PM

“I’m calling on behalf of John McCain and the RNC to tell you that coal jobs, which are so important to our community are in jeopardy,” says the robocall being made to voters in Pennsylvania and Ohio, among other coal-producing states.

Continues the robocall: “Listen to Barack Obama's plans to bankrupt the coal industry.”

The call then plays this quote from Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.: "So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.”

Palin has already incorporated this material into her stump speech.

I hope Obama is able to effectively respond in the little time that is left before Tuesday!

3. If they didn't work at least a little they wouldn't do them
Kind of like Spam e-mails - most people just ignore them, but all it takes is a few idiots . . .

4. It's just cheap advertising -- that's why it's done
Every time I get a robocall, I immediately hang up. I'm sure most people do.

5. that means the currenct kind. not "clean coal" kind.
we need to clarify. We don't need our country belching out pollutants of F-ing coal. What is that? thousands of years of technology and we have to get energy the way cave men did? Nope.

11. Robocalls are the telephone version of email spam. They annoy more so than persuade.
